Generative Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Activities in Germany: Prospects, Opportunities, and Practical Recommendations

This article systematically analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technology on engineering professions in Germany. Utilizing a mixed-methodology approach, the work assesses both the potential and the risks. The findings indicate that generative AI is viewed as a tool for enhancing efficiency, automating routine tasks, and supporting development processes. Key challenges to implementation remain AI "hallucinations", a lack of high-quality industry-specific data, and concerns regarding security and reliability. The study emphasizes the necessity of retaining ultimate human oversight, the targeted adaptation of technologies to engineering disciplines, and the strategic development of competencies. The conclusions and recommendations are of a universal nature and can be applied in other countries, including Russia.
